empowering expression and creativity

Nic is a PhD student in the Interface Ecology Lab at Texas A&M. He is an advocate of human-centered design and believes that thoughtfully designed software has the incredible potential to change human experience.

His philosophies and goals have him entangled in many aspects human-computer interaction including: curation, expression, creativity support, information visualization, multi-touch interaction, interactive art, games, and fashion. Specifically his current research areas include: expressive web curation, presentation tools, semantic zooming, piles, visual snippets, and hypermedia.

Nic is currently leading the design and development of IdeaMâché, a creative new way to collect and organize content on the web.

Previously, Nic has been involved in the development of InfoComposer and combinFormation. His contributions to that project included the design and implementation of the InfoComposer control menu. He has also worked on the meta-metadata language.
